Prepare and Quit!

When you're ready...

To make your quit attempt successful it is essential that feel ready and motivated. If you don't feel like you want to quit or would rather cut down the number of cigarettes that you smoke than quit for good, it probably isn't the time for you.

 

Why you want to quit

You should think hard about quitting and making a few brief lists that you can refer back to during your quit attempt or in moments of temptation. Perhaps try writing down what you hope to benifit from it, here are a few suggestions:

  • More money? Use our calculator here to work out how much you might save.
  • Better taste and smell and fresher breath?
  • Better skin and more energy?
  • Less stress and anxiety?
  • Cleaner lungs, stronger heart?

You should also think about why you smoke, why you took it up in the first plce, what was that experience like? Below are possible suggestions but also think about what keeps you smoking today:

  • To be cool
  •  To copy friends or family
  • To feel older or more gorown up
  • Curious about the taste
